CYBER SECURITY ACADEMY 2022/2023 Spring Semester

EMA – Development and Mobility Agency together with the Technical University of Moldova and experts in cyber security ESET announce the selection process of up to 15 FCIM students in the Spring Semester for the Cyber Security Academy Programme financed by SlovakAid and the U.S. Department of State.
The Academy consists of 3 core modules + internship:
1. Hard Skills Module: led by ESET CybSec experts and will contain topics such as Hypervisor, Git knowledge, Virtual Box, network settings for Virtual Box, Capture the flag on Robot machine and Network scanner
2. Soft Skills Module: focused on teamwork, communication, and presentation skills with an experienced coach from the business sector
3. English Language: focused on enhancing English skills important for working in an international team
Note: Hard Skills and Soft Skills modules are compulsory. Free English is a bonus for you.
4. Internships: After completing the above modules, the top 5 students will be offered a one-month internship directly at ESET in Iasi, Romania, with their living costs covered up to 700 EUR per month. The internships will count as one class with full credits!
All successful graduates of the Academy will also receive certificates.
Interested students should send their application by Friday, 3 February 2023, to decanat@fcim.utm.md. The selection process will be done by the Selection Committee, composed of representatives of the TUM and ESET, and the shortlisted candidates might be invited to a short interview.
The application should include:
1. Application for the programme (addressed to the committee), expressing a request to participate and consent to process personal data by the selection committee;
2. Academic Certificate issued by the faculty administration;
3. CV in English (max 2 pages);
4. Motivation Letter in English (max 1 page) explaining your motivation to participate in the Academy and how it can help you develop your skills;
5. Student Certificate issued by the secretariat of the faculty, which confirms the current cycle and academic year.

Programme Criteria:

1. Eligibility criteria
• To be a full-time student (bachelor/master’s level – preferably last year students) at the Technical University of Moldova, Faculty of Computers, Informatics, and Microelectronics;

• To submit all documents stated above;
• To submit additional documents if requested by the Selection Committee.

2. Selection criteria
• Meet the eligibility criteria;
• Pass all exams successfully;
• English language skills at B1 level or higher.

3. Specific criteria
• Students of the Information Security study programme or with some experience in the cyber security domain;
• Good academic results in the current year;
• Participation in competitions and other extra-curricular activities.

February-March 2023 Soft Skills module (8 weeks, once a week 90 minutes at TUM)
April-May 2023 Hard Skills module (8 weeks, once a week 90 minutes at TUM)
English language Once a week (90 min) at TUM
ESET internship June or July 2023
