During the Senate meeting of the Technical University of Moldova, the Rector of UTM, prof. univ., dr. hab. Viorel Bostan, presented the Annual Activity Report for 2025. The document provides a summary of the institution’s results in education, research, internationalization, academic management, human resources, infrastructure and student life. At the institutional level, the report indicates the development directions of UTM and the dynamics of the main academic indicators. On January 1, 2026, the university had 10,828 students in the first cycle, bachelor’s and integrated studies, and in the second cycle, master’s, the contingent was 1,435 students, within 54 master’s programs.
For the Faculty of Computers, Informatics and Microelectronics, the report provides a synthetic image of the academic activity and the contribution of the faculty in the fields of information technologies, software engineering, information security, automation, microelectronics and biomedical engineering.
FCIM in figures of the 2025 Annual Report
The data indicate the important share of FCIM in training specialists for the digital and engineering fields. The number of undergraduate students, programs in foreign languages, the launch of the master’s program Generative Artificial Intelligence and the level of employment of graduates reflect the relevance of the educational offer of the faculty and its connection with the requirements of the labor market.
Data on international students and academic mobilities also highlight FCIM’s participation in the university’s internationalization processes. FCIM’s Software Engineering program attracts students from Tunisia, Turkey, Ukraine, India and the Russian Federation, and academic mobilities of students and teaching staff support cooperation with foreign partners.
The presentation of the report takes place in the context of the re-election of Prof. Univ., Dr. hab. Viorel Bostan as rector of the Technical University of Moldova. The ballot on April 23, 2026 registered 908 participants, and Prof. Univ., Dr. hab. Viorel Bostan obtained 751 votes, the results being validated on April 24, 2026 by the Council for Strategic Institutional Development.
The community of the Faculty of Computers, Informatics and Microelectronics appreciates the institutional collaboration and the continuity of the academic dialogue with the university management. At the same time, FCIM notes with consideration the professional connection of the rector with the faculty, prof. univ., dr. hab. Viorel Bostan being a university professor affiliated with FCIM and the Department of Software and Automation Engineering.
