The didactic-scientific activity of the teaching staff at the Technical University of Moldova is carried out within its departments. Therefore, the department within the Technical University of Moldova is a fundamental structural subdivision which operates according to the legislation in force, based on the provisions of the Education Code of the Republic of Moldova, the UTM Book and other internal normative acts of UTM.
The department is a subdivision of the university with a didactic-scientific nature, consisting of groups of disciplines circumscribed to a well-defined field of science.
Among the essential objectives of the department are the design and organization of the didactic and scientific process; the preparation and improvement of the scientific and teaching staff; the ensuring of educational work with students; the developing of relationship with the business environment in the ICT field.
The search for optimal solutions for the problems encountered in achieving the objectives is a continuous test of the members of the departments, taking into account the socio-economic realities of the Republic of Moldova.
