FCIM faculty members participated in the 21st edition of the International Conference DisCo 2026 – Future-Ready Skills: Cultivating Digital Fluency and Opportunity for Youth, Women, and Displaced Communities, held in Prague, Czech Republic, reaffirming their active role in promoting educational innovation and digital transformation in higher education.
During the conference: asst. univ. Maria Guțu and PhD student Adriana Ursu organized the workshop “Transforming Static Educational Materials into Interactive AR Experiences”, dedicated to the use of augmented reality technologies in the educational process. At the same time, they presented the results of the research through the scientific articles “From Digital Literacy to Human–AI Fluency: Rethinking Future-Ready Education” and “Interactive Learning Environments Through Augmented Reality Technologies”.
The workshop offered participants a practical experience in creating interactive educational resources using the Artivive platform. Teachers, researchers and students discovered how static educational materials – posters, worksheets, illustrations or images – can be transformed into augmented reality-based learning experiences, without requiring programming skills.
During the practical session, participants developed their own AR projects by integrating animations and videos into images, then testing the results in real time using the Artivive application. The activity demonstrated the potential of no-code solutions to facilitate the integration of emerging technologies in education and to transform the teaching and learning process into a more interactive, attractive and student-centered experience.
The workshop brought together participants from several countries, providing a conducive framework for the exchange of experience and good practices regarding the use of digital technologies in education. The interest shown by the participants reconfirmed the relevance of augmented reality as a modern tool for developing digital skills and designing educational experiences adapted to the requirements of the digital society.
By participating in DisCo 2026, the faculty strengthens its involvement in promoting digital education, didactic innovation and research in the field of emerging technologies, contributing to the development of modern and future-oriented educational models.
