The collaboration between the Faculty of Computers, Informatics and Microelectronics (FCIM) at the Technical University of Moldova and the “Vladimir Andrunachievici” Institute of Mathematics and Informatics demonstrates how university education can naturally transition into practical experience, research, innovation, and professional integration.
Students and graduates of Computer Science programs have the opportunity to engage directly in the Institute’s activities, work alongside researchers, and participate in national and international scientific projects and events.
Dmitrii Vanghelii, a student in the Applied Informatics program, is following such a path; he completed his internship at the Institute under the guidance of Olesea Caftanatov, a researcher and Head of the “Programming Systems – Iurie Rogojin” Laboratory. This experience gave him the opportunity to gain firsthand insight into the research environment and the projects developed within the laboratory.
Marius Cerescu, a graduate of the Data Science master’s program, also progressed from an internship to professional integration. Following his internship, he was hired by the Institute, where he continues his work in research and development and participates in international innovation events, including EUROINVENT—the European Exhibition of Creativity and Innovation. For his part, Eugeniu Plămădeală—a second-year master’s student in the Generative Artificial Intelligence program and a laboratory employee—has distinguished himself by participating in international invention and innovation exhibitions, where he achieved outstanding results, including a gold medal.
The partnership between the two institutions also extends to the academic and research spheres. Researchers from the Institute contribute to the training of FCIM students through teaching activities within the Applied Informatics and Generative Artificial Intelligence programs. Furthermore, the collaboration manifests in joint initiatives such as ADAMo (Automatic Detection of AI-Generated Texts from Moldova and Romania), a project dedicated to researching methods for the automatic detection of AI-generated text.
Through such partnerships, FCIM strengthens the link between education, research, and the professional world, offering students the opportunity to translate the knowledge gained at the university into practical experience, scientific achievements, and tangible career opportunities.
