Between June 11–13, 2026, three students from the Faculty of Computers, Informatics and Microelectronics (FCIM) of the Technical University of Moldova successfully represented the faculty at the 20th International Student Scientific Conference ELSTUD 2026, organized by the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science of Ștefan cel Mare University of Suceava.
The event annually brings together students from various engineering fields to present their research results and exchange innovative ideas.
FCIM students achieved outstanding results:
First Prize – Applied Engineering Sciences Section Nicu Drumea Paper: “Non-Invasive Intelligent System for Conjunctival Hemodynamic Analysis with Erythrocyte Self-Calibration and Optical Flow” Supervisor: Assoc. Prof. Viorel Cărbune, PhD, Department of Informatics and Systems Engineering.
Second Prize – Applied Engineering Sciences Section Dimitrii Belih Paper: “IoT-enabled Delta Robot Platform for Agricultural Product Sorting” Supervisor: Lecturer Andrei Bragarenco, PhD, Department of Software Engineering and Automation.
Honorable Mention – Computers and Information Technology Section Daniel Istrati Paper: “RAG and LLM Systems in Customer Assistance: A Case Study” Supervisor: Assoc. Prof. Dumitru Ciorbă, PhD, Eng., Department of Software Engineering and Automation.
The participation and achievements of FCIM students demonstrate their high level of academic preparation, their ability to address contemporary challenges in fields such as Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, the Internet of Things, and Intelligent Biomedical Applications, as well as the quality of research activities carried out within the faculty.
