Within the Erasmus+ Program, representatives of the Faculty of Computers, Informatics and Microelectronics (FCIM), Technical University of Moldova, participated in an academic mobility held at the Technical University of Gabrovo, Bulgaria, one of the higher education institutions recognized for its modern research infrastructure and close collaboration with the industrial environment.
The UTM delegation included Larisa Bugaian, university professor, doctor habilitated, Corina Guțu-Chetrusca, university lecturer, doctor, Ana Turcan, vice-dean of FCIM, and Valentina Astafi, assistant lecturer. The mobility aimed to strengthen international academic relations, exchange good practices and identify new opportunities for collaboration in the fields of education, research and innovation.
The visit program included meetings with representatives of the management of the Technical University of Gabrovo and the Department of International Relations, addressing topics aimed at expanding Erasmus+ mobilities, developing institutional partnerships and promoting joint research projects.
The participants had the opportunity to visit the laboratories and research centers of the Faculty of Electrical and Electronic Engineering and the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, becoming familiar with the activities carried out in the field of smart materials, energy-efficient technologies and sustainable engineering solutions.
An important moment of the mobility was the visit to the Competence Center “Smart, Eco and Energy-efficient Mechatronic Systems and Technologies”, developed with the support of the European Union. The participants explored the research infrastructure of the center and analyzed examples of good practices regarding the integration of research, innovation and technology transfer in collaboration with the industrial sector.
Also, during the meetings organized at the Faculty of Economics, modern approaches to the educational process, the development of study programs and the impact of artificial intelligence on higher education were discussed.
Erasmus+ mobility provided a valuable framework for the exchange of experience and the consolidation of international academic cooperation, contributing to the promotion of internationalization processes and the development of new perspectives for collaboration between the Technical University of Moldova and the Technical University of Gabrovo.
The participation of FCIM teaching staff in such international activities reflects the constant concern of the faculty for continuous professional development, the exchange of academic experience and integration into the European space of education and research.
