The Faculty of Computers, Informatics and Microelectronics actively participated in the 18th edition of the International Conference “Development and Application Systems (DAS 2026)”, held on May 21–23, 2026, at Ștefan cel Mare University of Suceava, Romania.
The DAS International Conference is one of the leading scientific platforms dedicated to promoting research, innovation, and academic collaboration in engineering and information technology. The event annually brings together researchers, academic staff, PhD students, and industry specialists, offering a platform for knowledge exchange and sharing scientific results in interdisciplinary and international contexts.
This year’s edition held particular significance for the Technical University of Moldova, which participated for the first time as a co-partner of the conference, alongside Ștefan cel Mare University of Suceava and the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca. This collaboration reconfirmed the importance of interuniversity and interdisciplinary partnerships in advancing research and strengthening the regional academic and technological ecosystem.
The academic staff and PhD students of FCIM made a remarkable contribution to the conference by presenting 17 scientific papers addressing current and relevant topics in the fields of artificial intelligence, software architectures, embedded systems, electronics, and modern information technologies.
We are especially proud of the professionalism, dedication, and effort demonstrated by the FCIM academic staff, researchers, and PhD students, who represented the faculty and the Technical University of Moldova at a high academic and scientific level. The presented papers highlighted not only the research and innovation capabilities of the FCIM academic community, but also its active contribution to the development of modern directions in information technologies and engineering.
At the same time, participation in DAS 2026 provided an excellent opportunity to strengthen academic relations and explore new perspectives for international collaboration. In this context, the FCIM delegation had the honor of visiting the laboratory coordinated by Prof. Dr. Habil. Radu-Daniel Vatavu — Head of the Machine Intelligence and Information Visualization Research Lab — an interdisciplinary research laboratory bringing together specialists in Computer Science, Electronics, and Psychology. The visit represented a valuable experience for the exchange of ideas and for gaining insight into modern research directions in artificial intelligence, information visualization, and human-computer interaction.
The active participation of the FCIM academic community in DAS 2026 reflects the faculty’s continuous commitment to promoting excellence in research, supporting innovation, and remaining connected to current trends within the international technology and engineering ecosystem.
Through such participations and academic collaborations, FCIM reaffirms its mission to contribute to the advancement of knowledge, support young researchers, and promote academic and scientific excellence at both national and international levels.
