In the context of climate challenges and increasingly frequent droughts, researchers from the Technical University of Moldova are actively contributing to the development of innovative solutions for water resources management.
Academician Anatolii Sidorenco, professor at the Faculty of Computers, Informatics and Microelectronics and coordinator of the Environmental Laboratory at TUM, is conducting pioneering research on technologies for actively influencing atmospheric processes to stimulate precipitation.
As part of a long-term scientific collaboration with partners from Bulgaria, the research team is testing innovative materials intended for artificial precipitation, using an experimental stand unique in the region, developed at TUM. The existing research infrastructure allows simulating conditions in the upper layers of the atmosphere and evaluating the efficiency of new generations of hygroscopic reagents.
This research direction demonstrates the essential role of science and innovation in identifying solutions to major societal problems, contributing to mitigating the effects of drought and supporting the sustainable development of agriculture.
Congratulations to Academician Anatolii Sidorenco and the research team for the results obtained and for promoting scientific excellence at the Technical University of Moldova!
