During the period of May 12–15, 2026, at the Politehnica University of Timișoara, Faculty of Mechanics – Department of Mechatronics, one of the most important academic competitions dedicated to the field of mechatronics in Romania – ZEM-2026 (Mechatronics Education Days) was held.
The event brought together students, teachers and university teams from Romania and the Republic of Moldova, providing a competitive and collaborative framework for the presentation of innovative projects in the field of mechatronic systems, robotics and modern engineering applications.
At this edition, the Faculty of Computers, Informatics and Microelectronics (FCIM) of the Technical University of Moldova was represented by two teams of students from the Robotics and Mechatronics study program:
• RM-231: Cornel PANTELEICIUC, Andrei LOZINSCHI, Veaceslav CULEV;
• R-241: Mircea BEȘLEAGĂ.
FCIM students presented two original projects, developed by integrating mechanical, electronic and software components, demonstrating a high level of technical training, creativity and innovation capacity.
The projects attracted the attention of participants and visitors through the proposed engineering solutions, practical implementation and creative approach to technical challenges. The value of the ideas developed by FCIM, UTM students was appreciated by the audience and the participating teams, confirming the competitiveness and academic relevance of their contributions to the competition.
Participation in ZEM-2026 represented a valuable opportunity to promote academic excellence, exchange experience and strengthen collaborations between universities, while also offering students the opportunity to validate their skills in a competitive academic environment.
We congratulate the FCIM students for their involvement, creativity and professionalism, as well as the teachers who contributed to their preparation for a successful representation of the Faculty of Computers, Informatics and Microelectronics and the Technical University of Moldova at the international level!
