National Center for Biomedical Engineering

The Center promotes cooperation at a national and international level through activities in join projects with economic agents from the Republic of Moldova and abroad, as well as by participating in the organization of scientific conferences, symposia and seminars on current problems in the field of biomedical engineering. 

The basic purpose and objectives of the Center are determined by the increase of the quality of the medical services by improving the management of medical devices, in order to ensure a high performance and security level of the medical devices in use in the medico-sanitary institutions: 

• Improving the skills in the field of medical device management, managers, medical and technical personnel from medico-sanitary institutions, through initial and continuous professional training; 
• Promotion of the profession of medical bioengineer in the health system in relation to the requirements and quality standards of the medical act; 
• Creating favorable conditions for improving the level of theoretical and practical training of the students, masters and doctoral students and training their potential in research activities in the field of biomedical engineering; 

The functional areas of the Center are determined by the activities in organizing and providing technical and scientific support services, facilitating the development of human resources, scientific research and education in the field of biomedical engineering: 

• Continuous professional training of managers, medical and technical personnel from medico-sanitary institutions in the field of the use of medical devices, as well as for the specialists responsible for the marketing and commissioning of medical devices; 
• The elaboration of the continuous improvement programs compulsory for specialists who are active in the field of using medical devices, as well as for the specialists responsible for the commissioning of medical devices; 
• Ensuring the provision of technical support, evaluation and consulting services in the field of medical devices; 
• Elaboration and implementation of the medical device management procedures according to national regulatons and manufacturer’s requirements; 
• Elaboration and implementation of maintenance procedures (maintenance, diagnosis and repair) of the medical devices; 
• Scientific research in medical engineering; 
• Promoting the profession of biomedical engineer in the health system in relation to the requirements and quality standards of the medical act;
