The Faculty of Computers, Informatics and Microelectronics of the Technical University of Moldova participated again this year in the prestigious international student competition Hard&Soft 2026, held at the “Ștefan cel Mare” University in Suceava, Romania.
Now in its XXXI edition, the competition brought together 16 university teams from Romania, the Republic of Moldova, Germany, China and Ukraine, offering an international academic environment dedicated to innovation, the development of hardware and software solutions and interdisciplinary collaboration.
FCIM was represented by two teams of students, who actively participated in the technical tests and demonstrated solid engineering skills, creativity and the ability to develop innovative solutions for current technological challenges.
The first team formed by students of the Robotics and Computers and Networks study programs: Drumea Nicu – RM-221; Andrei Clima – RM-221; Cocieru Dragoș – CR-231; Buga Pavel – CR-231
The second team formed by students of the Robotics and Automation and Informatics study programs: Drangoi Karina – R-241; Stregărescu Ion – R-241; Beșleagă Mircea – R-241; Stamov Loredana – AI-241
UTM’s participation in Hard&Soft already represents an important academic tradition, the university having been present in the competition since 1997. Over the years, this competition has become a valuable platform for the affirmation of FCIM students at an international level and for the consolidation of academic and professional relations between universities and industry.
A remarkable result of this year’s edition was the obtaining of the Special Sponsors’ Award by the first FCIM team. The distinction confirms the high level of training of the faculty’s students, their team spirit and their ability to transform technical ideas into functional and relevant solutions. Beyond the results, Hard&Soft represents a complex academic experience, which contributes to the development of innovative thinking, adaptability and practical skills necessary for future engineers in a technological environment that is constantly evolving.
Congratulations to all participating students and coordinators for their involvement, professionalism and the excellent way in which they represented FCIM and UTM internationally!
