General Description

  • Biomedical Engineering is an interdisciplinary field that integrates professional engineering knowledge (electronics and information technologies) with medical knowledge and creates fundamental concepts and knowledge for the following activities: organizing and conducting diagnostic research, treatment procedures (including rehabilitation and restoration) assisted by specialized equipment; management of medical technologies; development, production, maintenance, control, and diagnostics of modern biomedical techniques; development and implementation of new medical technologies using computerized technical means; development, implementation, and maintenance of professional-oriented informational systems; telemedicine, telecommunications, digital communications, and informational networks. 

  • The Biomedical Engineering specialist, in accordance with the fundamental and specialized studies, is trained to work in: medical centers and hospitals, enterprises, and scientific centers for the production, design, research, commercialization, and servicing of medical devices as a manager, clinical engineer, medical bioengineer, scientific researcher, design engineer, or programmer.
